Andreas Karki is a Director for AT-RISK focused on Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. He is based in Dubai and has oversight of the firm’s consulting, protection and operational security within the region including direct support of client matters.
Mr. Karki has more than 15 years of experience in the private security sector having worked on large, multi-cultural assignments in Scandinavia, Europe and the United Arab Emirates. He has an extensive global network and currently serves as a Chapter Board Officer for ASIS in Dubai in which he is head of programs and events. Additionally, in 2015 he was a Chapter Board Officer for ASIS in Sweden where he oversaw programs in the East.
Prior to joining AT-RISK, Mr. Karki worked as the Head of Risk Solutions and Close Protection for a large security company. In this capacity he managed over 200 employees within the banking and finance sector including supervision of close protection, security and risk consulting services, education and training, and security officers.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Karki held a position as Country President in the United Arab Emirates for a manned guarding company in which he focused on business development, marketing and expansion in the region.
Mr. Karki is a seasoned professional with multi-lingual abilities in Scandinavian, English and Arabic languages. He has working knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management, ISO 27000 Information Security Management and API Standard 780 methodology. He received a graduate degree in logistics and organized crime/terrorism from Skelleftea University. He also has certified training from the Swedish Armed Forces in psychological operations and chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear defense. In 2014 ASIS granted him a scholarship during the 60th Annual International Seminar and Exhibits based on his leadership in improving membership and meeting strategic goals for the Swedish chapter.
Mr. Karki is a Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) and Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CATS).
